It's from last wednesday night in calgary. We went to see the lights and I hopped up on a reindeer and took it for a ride. Haha. So my appointment in Calgary went well. The doctor is sending me for an MRI which is what I expected for him to do. Hopefully that doesn't take to long to get into. MRI's can take up to 6 months for them to book you in.
Basketball has been going good. The girls are learning quite a bit and improving ALOT. It's a good feeling knowing that I am helping them to become better players and they look up to me as well. I find it's a great oppurtunity to be a witness to them also.
Over the past few weeks I have been working out alot. Just about every morning at 5:20 a.m. I am up and off to the gym. It's incredibly hard to roll out of bed, but after my 30 minutes of cardio and pumping some iron I feel AWESOME. One of the girls on my team meets me there most mornings too, her name is Danielle and we are kind of just trying to be accountability partners. So far...so good.
Not to much else is new. We had some really warm weather these past few days and now it's snowing again. Yey. I'm so sick of having this half and half weather.
Oh one last thing. Christmas break starts as of Friday. Hallelujah...I'm so excited to go home and spend Christmas in Edmonton. Enjoy your day you all.

Girls Night

Last night Sheena, Jess, Mei-Lin and I had a hair & massage party. Well all went a took a shower, washed our hair with shampoo then sat in front of the TV where we had a luxurious head massage with conditioner. How relaxing. Most of us got back massages too! It was a good bonding night...time for us to just chill and have some fun. So it's continuing to snow out here. I am so excited. Today we are reaching lows of -27 with the windchill. I wouldn't mind it being that cold if there wasn't so much wind. That just ruins it all. Our horse at camp Doyle died two days ago. We had to put him down. The vet guessed he had cancer or something and he was really sick. Snotty nose, couldn't keep food down...sad story. It's sad that he's gone, but I'm glad he's not in pain anymore. His poor partner Dan must be sad now though as well. There's also been sightings of a cougar around camp. It's kinda scary. Rick says we can't walk around alone especially during night. I'm sure theres cougars out all the time, it's just a matter of us seeing them or not. I'm not to scared...they aren't really people animals so they wouldn't be in a public area. Well...just one prayer request. I'm off to Calgary next Wednesday for an orthopaedic appointment. It's for my knee...please pray the doctors will have some answers for me. Thanks.

Hallelujah it SNOWED!

Well...finally it snowed. Praise Jesus. It's about time I'd say! I hope that it's here to stay. The last 3 days I have had off. It has been nice to just take a break after 9 days on at work. Thursday afternoon I headed up to edmonton to do a bit of Christmas shopping and a few other things. I picked myself up a pair of bindings for my snowboard too. Now all I need is the actuall snowboard. I'm praying to God the funds will come in for me to be able to get one. Apparently Sundre has a half pipe during the snowy season. I'm quite excited to see that. Saturday and Sunday I stayed at home and just basically hung out at my house. I watched a few movies and Kelly, Myron, Cyndi and I went swimming in Sundre too. That was fun. Yesterday me and some of the girls just cleaned the house. I love cleaning the house. It's so rewarding if you ask me. During the last few days I have been working on trying to thank the Lord for everything. When I see the sun come up, for the food I eat, the friends and family I have, the things I own...you know...everything. I think that it must make God smile when I praise him for everything. It makes me happy knowing I made God happy too. Being at camp has been a bit of a struggle for me these past few weeks. I still love it here, but it's hard financially. I really dislike having to ask my parents to borrow money or I also am not a big fan of eating kraft dinner for supper everynight on my days off. I want to stay here because I have commited to and I do not like giving up. I would ask any of you to please pray for me to be blessed while I'm here at camp. Spiritually, Emotionally, Mentally...for whatever. Thank you.

Theres still NO SNOW!

This is another older picture that I just found recently. I miss having fun like that on my baby (quad). I saw a quad for sale yesterday, only $1800 dollars, and it was in good shape. To bad it was sold by the time I called for it. Last night I had the worst dream I've ever had in my whole life. I woke myself up this morning with sniffling and tears streaming out of my eyes. I was balling terribly. Right away I was remembering I just had a dream...one that my little brother died. It was terrible. I don't know how he died, but I was so concerned that he wasn't going to be at my wedding and I wouldn't ever get to live in an appartment with him or go travelling with him or anything. It was just traumatizing. And in my dream I didn't think my parents were to concerned he died and they were throwing out some of his stuff. I was so concerned that they kept his stuff for me. I wanted all of it. Weird.
Anyways, these last couple days have been a little bit hard for me. It's been very emotionally draining. I've had alot of frustrations with people at camp. We have a new program director and he's still learning how things work. There's lots to learn on his part, and ours as a staff. It's hard for both of us. Last night I went over and talked to him about my concerns. I'm glad I did it. I think it was good for us to talk about our problems and try to work them out. God has been trying to teach me alot lately. I'm learning to control my emotions. I get so wrapped up in them all the time and it's tearing me down. I need to learn not to bottle things up so much. It felt good talking to Myron, (program director), but it was scary. I did it though and that was good.
Well it doesn't look like I'll be snowboarding anytime soon...its in the teens all week for weather. I hope the snow comes soon. It's going to be a great season for boarding, once I actually purchase a board.

Hurry Up And Snow Already!

This picture is a couple weeks old but this is Kelly and I at the Sundre Pool. She is so cute. Photogenic too! Anyways, I can't believe it's the middle of November and we don't have snow yet. Right now it's raining in Sundre. The snow should have stayed by now, but its not going to. The water isn't even frozen enough to skate on yet. On tuesday and wednesday Sheena and I headed up to Edmonton. I got quite a bit done. Visited my Nanny, got fed there. She sent me home with her raspberries and jam. Yum. Also I got Christmas money from her too. I can't believe it's almost Christmas. It doesn't seem like it at all. Man time is flying. Cory came with us to see the movie Chicken Little. It's so funny, I would reccomend it to anyone. We went to walmart like 5 times. One of them was so I could get my "school pictures" done. They will be ready about first week of December. Both Sheena and I bought new pajama pants. My dad told me I could have the skidoo out here before Christmas. I am really excited about that. I will be able to pull people behind on GT's and sleds. Otherwise nothing else very exciting is going on. Hopefully the snow falls soon so I can get snowboarding. This was a pretty random blog entry eh? Well I'm out.

My Favorite Scenery

Look how beautiful it is out here. This is one of my favorite things to see every morning. It is on my way out to school. I think its just so perfect to see that one little white house amongst the beautiful trees and mountains and such. So BEAUTIFUL! Over the last few days I haven't done a whole lot. I had Sunday off so I went to go visit my good buddy Mark in Calgary. We just hung out Saturday night and went to church Sunday. Camp is very very slow right now. There are no groups in untill Friday. Sugar (Jason) and I have been cleaning the shop part of the livery. We are sorting through nuts and bolts and tools and all sorts of random items. I even found a household cleaning product that said it kills HIV in 30 seconds. Thats insane. The weather has been pretty good out here around camp. The snow is now here permanently which is nice. Sunshine ski hill is opening in 2 days. I am sooooo excited. That means I'm that much closer to being able go snowboarding again. Yey! Well I must get going back to my school work. Gotta stay smart. Haha. By the way I ended up getting 77% over all on my Social 23 final exam. We got about 4 inches and it is beautiful. Today though now it's blue skies and going to be +6. I love the snow personally...that means that snowboarding season is comming sooner. The only bad thing is that the roads are bad and my car does'nt work good on snow. I don't have good anti-lock breaks...they suck. I spent friday through monday at courtneys moms house and that was good. I saw alot of family and went to my first craft show. So this week in school I finally finished my social 23 course. Thank goodness I am done with that. I wrote the Multiple Choice part yesterday of my final and got 70% on it. Today I wrote the Written Response part and I will find out my mark tomorrow. Not a whole lot has been happening otherwise. I got some early Christmas presents last weekend as well. I got a CSI and Simpsons DVD set...a whole season of each. I'm loving it. Camp is finally slowing down. There are not as many groups comming in and they are much smaller than they were before. Things arent so crazy busy anymore and so we get to relax more which is nice. Otherwise nothing to exciting. Hopefully the snow keeps falling.

Petra Praise...Whoot Whoot!

Woah, I feel like I have'nt updated you all in forever. So much has happend in the last few days. I got to go home to Edmonton and see my family and Cory. It was good. I also saw some people from Edmonton. I never realized how much I missed the place. Just being familiar with everything and knowing everyone. (sigh...home sweet home) I bought myself a new pair of snowboard boots. They are just some nice black burton boots. I'm trying to get myself a whole new board set up for the winter. I can't wait till sunshine ski hill opens. It's the best. School has been a bit busier this week as I have to make sure I am prepared for my final on Tuesday. Tests are a little sketchy for me...but I hope that I will do good. I now have Friday through Monday off and I will be spending it with some of Courtneys family. I like them alot...they have pretty much adopted me into their family. They live in this cute little town called spruceview located just about 45minutes from camp. Courtneys sister is comming too and she lives in BC or SK or something. I remember her from when I was a little camper, but she probably wont remember me. Oh well. This week we had beautiful weather. It was +21 two days ago but all of the sudden I woke up to snow this morning. I don't mind the snow being here as long as it stays so that the hills can open sooner. Last night Rick, the camp director, took all the staff out. First we went to this restaurant in a hotel, then we went to the Petra concert. It was fun. Petra Praise is a 80's rock worship band. My mom owns one of their CD's. I did'nt know many of their songs, but it was entertaining.

Home Sweet Home!

Well today I got to come home to Edmonton. What a day I tell you. The main reason I came home was to go to the Edmonton ski and snowboard swap at the sportex. Things didnt work out as quite planned. First I went to totem outfitters and they would'nt take my board in because I have step in bindings and they don't accept them anymore. Apparently people don't want them, but I know some people who still like them, especially city skiiers. Anyways, I ended up putting a pair of burton boots on hold for now and I'm picking them up tomorrow. Eventually I will be getting some boots and bindings with them as well. Otherwise I have'nt done alot today but drive around. I forgot how expensive parking is in the city. I spent like $10 just today. Tonight Cory was suppose to come over but he ditched out. Tomorrow is a new day though. I'm super tired, I'm going to bed.

Sunny Days

Well the weather was beautiful out today. It must have been about +15 outside. The air was a little chilly out, but besides that gorgeous. The group we have in turned out only to be about 100 people so that was nice for us staff. We have many volunteers here so things are pretty slack for us all. I stayed home today for a bit becuase I was'nt feeling good, but hopefully tomorrow I'm good to go. I'm excited to go home and see everyone. The Beam family is here too....yey. The pictures are of Colter, and Colter and me, he's only 14 and look how crazy tall he is. The rest of his family is also very tall...it's insane. I watched 3 movies today so far and I will probably see at least one more. Sheena is going to cut my hair tonight as well. I am trying to keep it healthy since all I do is iron it with the clothes iron. Me personally, I don't like haircuts, but I know I have to do it. Well Jordan just showed up with the movie Shall We Dance. It's a good movie, I've seen it before. Well, I'm out for the evening, see you all in Edmonton tomorrow.

Yey for Ski Hills!

Picture:(Sheena, Me, Jordan) Yesterday was fun but exhausting. The three of us drove to Red Deer to drive Jen around to her interviews. The first one Jen had was at the ski hill in Red Deer. While she was being interviewed us three looked around and decided to have some fun with my camera (by which if you have'nt noticed by now, I carry around everywhere). Anyways, we found a chair lift, so I set my camera on a post and put it on a timer, then ran back to the lift and this is the picture we took. We also ran up the ski hill and got pictures of us all rolling down together. It was fun. After that, we drove around jen a bit more, to get a cell phone and a few other things. Then we went to walmart and michaels to get some more scrapbooking stuff. It's such a fun hobbie but so expensive. Well I should be set for a while, I bought quite a bit in the last little while. I have about 10 pages done and I think they're comming along nicely. So my car is making noises now. I think the CV joint is gone. No fun! Hopefully it's not as serious as it sounds, I'll find out when I go home to edmonton this weekend. Yes, that's right edmonton people, I'm comming home this weekend. Well not really for the weekend, but I will be there Sunday afternoon and monday. I will be stopping by Wagner at lunch also. Today we have a group of 180 Sherwood park people comming to camp. It's going to be crazy. But, Colter and Steve are comming out. They are my two giant friends...I'll take a picture and post it sometime. I love those boys. They are part of the BEAM family. They're a great bunch. Well, for now I am outta here. I should get some school work done. Please pray for my friends Leslie and Vicky. They are in Austraila, and they are having crazy car problems, and things are not going as planned so far. Thanks a bunch.

Well my blogger was'nt working yesterday so now I am going to have to tell you about two days ago and yesterday. Well two days ago it was beautiful outside. The sun was shining, no clouds, I even wore a tank top outside for part of the day. Anways...courtney and I had planned to go for a horse ride and so thats what we did. I rode this nice little horse named Ruby. Thats her in the picture. She's pretty fun but she runs a little funny because she's pregnant. So in a way it was like riding two horses at once. Well the ride just didnt end up being me and Courtney. Cindy, Adam, Jess, Dale and two other people came along for the ride. It was gorgeous, we could see for miles...even the mountains were clear. Well, I did'nt do much after that, but Court and I made an awesome supper. We had Shake and Bake chicken, and fried potatoes and veggies...ummm. Then we rented 4 videos, one of them being one of my new favorite movies. The longest yard...I would reccomend it to anyone, as long as you can handle a bit of foul language. So anyways, I went to Lethbridge for my first time last weekend. It's a pretty nice little town. I met alot of rugby people so that was good. I could never live there though...to windy, my lungs could'nt handle it. To our suprise, when we came home, there was princess, the camp cat, and her 7 kittens locked up in our upstairs bathroom. Now I have to admit the kittens are pretty cute but after being stuck in the bathroom over night, they reaked. Yesterday I was back at work. I got asked to take one a whole bunch more jobs, which makes me happy. I now am taking care of the AC, Sugar and I are incharge of maitenance, and the livery, and I am also suppose to be ordering in cleaning supplies for the camp. Should be good. I had a doctors appointment yesterday to make another appointment with a specialist about my knee. Please pray that it does'nt take a super long time to get me in. Have a good day y'all.

Me @ Camp

Where I am, What I'm doing

For those who don't know exactly where I am and what I'm doing, here's a little bit of an update for you. Summer 2005 I worked at Camp Evergreen as a Counsellor or Maintenance worker. I met alot of great people and created alot of memories I will never forget. After lots of prayer and consideration I choose to dedicate myself to stay at camp for the next year. Now I will be doing things like belaying at the wall or high ropes, or running skills such as canoeing, archery, marksmanship, field games, or whatever they need me for. So here I am living in Sundre Ab, which is about 30minutes west of Olds, and thats whats I'm doing for now. Currenty I am finishing high school at Sundre Learning Center. I attend school from 9:30-12:00 everyday. After that I head back to Camp to work for the day. In my house I live with 5 other girls, most of them drive me crazy. No one does dishes or cleans up after themselves. I feel like a mom somtimes taking care of the girls. Also, we have a cat, dog, and my bird living in the house, so that makes it almost like a zoo. It's fun, and so far I am enjoying it most of the time.
